1) Reverse Value is like Optical Illusion. It plays with the retina of your eye. You can see it as 3D shapes. For this assignment, we used ink, brushes, white-out, jelly role pen sharpies, and colored pencils.
Answers for Reflection questions :
1) I think that the most challenging part of this assignment was to ensure that you reversed the value of the objects properly. For example, you could accidentally color an object white, when it is supposed to be black. I feel as though this assignment requred you to think before you started to color.
2)
I like how this image plays with your retina. It looks like there are two spirals like shapes that look like tornadoes, but really they are just curves black and white lines. I like how they provided more space between the black and white lines of the spirals rather than the background. This makes the spirals show out more than the background.
3)
I chose to emphasize me doing a Bharatanatyam Pose. I have been learning Bharatanatyam (Classical Indian Dance) from a very young age and I have a lot if interest int this art form. I enjoy performing in front or large crowds and showing the audience my skills and talents. I think that this represents my self confidence and my love for dance.
