The book that cracked open reading for me

The Book that cracked open Reading for me!

I was walking down the rows of a library, and my eyes fell on a book that looked appealing to me. It was Nancy Drew holding a flashlight going up a set of stairs in a setting which looked like a haunted house. I ran to the counter and quickly checked out the book. I was boiling with excitement as I turned to the first page of the novel. I became so engrossed with the book so from the moment I picked up the book, I simply could not put it down. I felt the same intimidation that Nancy felt as she searched for clues, the threat in the air whenever there was a mystery, and the excitement in she when she solved a mystery. I loved the authors tone, Carolyn Keene, as she told the story. One by one she would reveal the clues and Nancy would try to decipher them. I was so intrigued by this book that I picked the next books in the series. I feel as though this book cracked open reading for me because after I read Nancy Drew, I asked my teachers for more suggestions for great books. It helped me become a more advanced reader and get a new taste of many genres. My vast interest in reading began with this wonderful fictional novel!
